Event Helper: Brazillian Day Canada Festival 2010

Required Skills In its 2nd year, the Brazilian Day Canada Festival celebrates Brazil’s culture through traditional music, dance and food. Brazilian Day Canada gives everyone, no matter what their cultural background a chance to be Brazilian for a day. Over 30, 000 people are expected to transform Yonge-Dundas Square into an ocean of green and yellow. This year Brazilian Day Canada has chosen to partner with Habitat for Humanity Toronto to raise funds for Habitat’s work in Toronto. Organizers hope to raise $80,000 from the Brazilian community, Festival attendees and sponsors to fund one Habitat home.

When: Labour Day Monday, September 6, 2010.
Where: Yonge-Dundas Square, downtown Toronto
What: Promote HFHT & collect donations during concert.
Detail Info Booths: Man a HFHT information booth. Answer questions about HFH, distribute brochures, accept donations, and/or track/collect requests for follow-up. Volunteers are needed from 9:00AM-2:30PM and 2:00PM-8:30PM.
Volunteers required: 4 per shift.

Street Ambassadors: Represent HFHT and direct people to the info booth and/or donation buckets. Wear HFHT t-shirts and answer questions about HFH. Volunteers are needed from 9:00AM-2:30PM and 2:00PM-8:30PM.
Volunteers required: 10 per shift.

Donation Buckets: Carry donation buckets. Collect cash & coin donations in paint cans that will be provided. Wear HFHT t-shirts, answer questions about HFH and direct people to the HFHT info booth for more information.
Volunteers are needed from 9:00AM-2:30PM and 2:00PM-8:30PM.
Volunteers required: 10 per shift.

Merchandise Sales: Man a BDC merchandise booth. Sell t-shirts and other BDC merchandise.
Volunteers are needed from 9:00AM-2:30PM and 2:00PM-8:30PM.
Volunteers required: 6 per shift.

Orientation will be provided pre-event.
